Home Town Quilt Sew Along 6 Month Check In

Home Town Quilt Sew Along 6 Month Check In

The Home Town quilt was designed by the fabulous quilt and fabric designer Lori Holt of Bee In My Bonnet Designs.

Here is a picture of Lori's quilt.

The minute I saw the quilt I knew I had to make it. I found it a few years after Lori had run her own sew along, so I decided to run my own sew along with my quilting friend Rachel.

We set a schedule of aiming to complete one house block per month and we started in September 2024 so the house blocks will be finished in August 2025 as there are 12 different houses.

Why a Sew Along?

A sew along is the perfect way to keep momentum and doing it with other quilter friends, means we can share our progress and learn from each other. It's also really good fun to see how everyone's quilts look so different despite all following the same instructions.

Here are the first 6 blocks.

The fabrics I chose are fabrics from lots of different Lori Holt fabric collections, I didn't follow the exact match to Lori's quilt but I loosely followed her colour palette.

I am thoroughly enjoying creating this quilt and also seeing everyone else's too - they all look so different.

I hope this might inspire you to have a try with this type of quilt.
